The Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction & Housing is currently implementing several strategic projects aimed at revitalizing Somalia’s infrastructure and improving public service delivery. These key initiatives include:

Nagaad/SURPII (Somalia Urban Resilience Project – Phase II)

This project focuses on strengthening urban resilience in selected cities by improving infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and building institutional capacity at both federal and local levels. SURPII aims to reduce vulnerability to recurrent shocks such as flooding, while promoting inclusive urban growth and stability.

SHIIP (Somalia – Horn of Africa Infrastructure Integration Project)

SHIIP is dedicated to addressing the housing needs of vulnerable populations, particularly internally displaced persons (IDPs). The project supports the development of durable, affordable housing, along with access to essential services like water, sanitation, and electricity. SHIIP promotes social integration, dignity, and long-term settlement solutions.

Road Infrastructure Program

This national initiative aims to expand and rehabilitate critical road networks across Somalia to improve connectivity, enable trade, and support socio-economic development. The program prioritizes key corridors linking major cities, ports, and rural areas, and includes the construction and maintenance of highways, bridges, and feeder roads.
