ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMME, SOMALIA (RIP-Somalia)

The Federal Government of Somalia has applied for financing from the African Development Bank
toward the cost of the Road Infrastructure Programme (RIP) Somalia, and intends to apply part of the
agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Preliminary and Detailed
Engineering Design of Four Priority Roads plus preparation of Bill of Quantities and Bidding
Documents.
The services included under this project are:
Lot 1: Consultancy services for preliminary and detailed engineering design of 82km stretch of
the existing Beledweyne-Galkayo road: Dhusamareb-Qaradhi (60km) and BeledWeyneKalabeyr (22km) (Lot1). Maximum duration of the assignment is 6.25 months
Lot 2: Consultancy services for preliminary and detailed engineering design of 85km stretch of
the existing Garowe-Galkayo road: Galkayo-Faratoyo (Lot2). Maximum duration of the
assignment is 6.25 months
Lot 3: Consultancy services for preliminary and detailed engineering design of 100km stretch of
Galkayo-Hobyo feeder road: Galkayo-Elgula (Lot3). Maximum duration of the assignment is 6.75
months
Lot 4: Consultancy services for preliminary and detailed engineering design of 80km LuuqDolow earth road (Lot4). Maximum duration of the assignment is 6 months
The Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing now invites eligible consultants to
indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information
indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar
assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
Consultants may constitute joint ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with
the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations” dated
October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 08:30 –
16:00hours local time on Saturdays – Wednesdays, and 08:30 – 13:00 hours local time on Thursdays
except on Public Holidays.
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by Thursday, 23 July 2019 at 09:00
hours local time and mention the consultancy services and lot number “Expression of Interest for
consultancy services for preliminary and detailed engineering design of …………. (Lot…)”.
